MKO ABIOLA was a selfish and corrupt polictician who had selfish interests.

Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (August 24, 1937 – July 7, 1998), often referred to as M. K. O. Abiola, was a popular Nigerian Yoruba businessman, publisher, politician and aristocrat of the Egba clan. He ran for the presidency in 1993, and is widely regarded as the presumed winner of the inconclusive election since no official final results were announced. He died in 1998, after being denied victory when the entire election results were annulled by the preceding military president Ibrahim Babangida because of alleged evidence that they were corrupt and unfair.
But asides from June 12, what else do we know about this man? A lot of stories and hearsay have being passed around concerning the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 presidential election winner. Please nobody should get me wrong, I am not trying to discredit or say bad stuffs about the Late M.K.O but I feel we really need to know who this man is. Was he like's of them Gandi, Nkrumah, Mandela, Martin Luther and other people who fought for the people selflessly or was he someone who while fighting for his pocket got caught up in the people's affair and decided to help or was he a bad guy trying to turn a new leave.
it is said to be that MKO Abiola was one of Nigeria’s richest and most corrupt ‘Cabal’ and business moguls of the past, MKO Abiola. Known for his political machinations and manipulations, and blamed for the sacking of civilian presidency of the Shagari regime and its replacement with a military government. Also the sacking of the Idiagbon-Buhari regime, one of the most uncorrupted, by his invitation of the leaders with the aid of the Saudi royals to the pilgrimage to enable his sponsored Babangida-Abacha coup, in contrast one of Nigeria’s worst regimes.
Late presidential candidate, Abiola is also highly remembered for the usurping of Nigerias wealth in the American multinational ITT (International Telephone and Telegraph) project that would have literally put a phone on every street in Nigeria and catapulted Nigeria into development.

Legendary Musician and black leader, late Fela Kuti, called the ITT ‘International-Thief-Thief’ scandal. Castigating MKO Abiola and Obasanjo for their roles in this

indeed MKO Abiola had no intentions of the goodwill of Nigerians in his mind when he died instead he did for himself. the response of the people and community of UNILAG to the name change to MAULAG can also stand as evidence to the ill-fate of the man whereby he is regarded as a crook and criminal who can not be named after the esteemed university of Lagos. summaries of the evil committed by MKO Abiola is still today debated even as this fellow puts it down for us to see:
Recall that Chief M.K.O Abiola was arrested alongside with the likes of Alh. Folawiyo and others by Gen. Tunde Idiagbon regime for several shaddy deals, price inflation of the products he imported and other anti-masses offences. I could recall that Chief Abiola was importing rice and was selling at a very high cost. Then, soldiers will break warehouse and sell at a particular rate which was cheaper than what we had in the market.

1. Several Coup was sponsored by this same Chief M.K.O Abiola including the toppling of Gen. Buhari / Gen. Tunde Idiagbon's regime which could have been the best military government in Nigeria that could have wiped away the seed of corruption that the likes of Chief M.K.O was sowing at that time. Was that for the sake of the masses?

2. The friendship of Chief M.K.O Abiola and that of IBB was not in the interest of the masses, not until the game-plan changed

3. This was one of the people who worked seriously against Chief Obafemi Awolowo, knowing fully well that if he became the president of Nigeria, business will not be as usual in their various nefarious deals.

with all these listed out we hope that the true nature of the man could be ascertained as to whether MKO Abiola was a true national hero or a treacherous man who was only after cheap political interests.
